INTRODUCTION. As Jesus continues his sermon on the mountainside, He teaches a variety of subjects to his disciples and the people gathered. He instructs them in almsgiving, the necessity of prayer, and fasting which are acts of righteousness to be performed sincerely from the heart and not to be seen of men.
