INTRODUCTION. After being released from prison, Paul and Silas departed Philippi while

Timothy and Luke remained behind. As Paul and Silas traveled westward on the Via Egnatia, they passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, then came to Thessalonica about seventy miles distant from Philippi.
