INTRODUCTION. According to Genesis, God created man and woman. They did not evolve from some lesser animals through millions of years.


"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ... " (Gen. 1 :26). God is Spirit (John 4:24); therefore, it is the spirit of man, not the body, which bears the image of God.


God formed man from the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul (Gen. 2:7). He then made woman from one of the man's ribs (Gen. 2:21-22). God instructed the man and woman to be fruitful and multiply, replenishing the earth (Gen. 1 :28)
