Gen. 13
Full Lesson HERE
INTRODUCTION. Lot was the son of Haran, Abram's brother; therefore, Lot was Abram's
nephew. Lot's father died in Ur, and thus Lot migrated to Canaan with Abram.
Abram and Lot prospered greatly in cattle, silver, and gold. Eventually they were unable to dwell together because their flocks and herds had become so numerous they both needed more land for pasture.
Abram generously told Lot to choose the area where he wanted to settle. Lot decided to travel to the east where the land was fertile and well-watered by the Jordan River. This area provided better pastureland for his flocks and herds than the rocky hill country of Canaan where he and Abram were located.
